Mindset first
Being nervous is normal. The goal is not to “perform” or impress anyone. The goal is to stay relaxed enough that your body can open up. Tension makes everything harder — literally.
Choose a partner who has patience and is willing to stop or slow down the second you ask. If someone rushes you, that is a red flag for the first time.

Preparation that actually helps
- Lube: Thick, quality lube. Start with more than feels necessary. Reapply.
- Fingers first: One finger, then two, slowly. This is not optional for most first-timers.
- Relaxation: Deep breathing, a drink if that helps you (not enough to impair judgment), and time. Do not schedule this like a meeting.
- Clean enough: A shower and basic external cleaning is usually fine for the first time. Full douching is optional and can irritate if overdone.
Best positions for the first time
You on top (cowboy): You control exactly how deep and how fast. This is the safest first-time position for most people.
Spooning: Low pressure, intimate, easy to stop or adjust. Good if you want less intensity.
Missionary with pillow under hips: Face-to-face so you can talk and kiss. The pillow improves the angle.
Doggy is hotter for many people but gives the top more control of depth — better once you already know what feels good.

- Tell him when to stop, slow down, or go deeper. Use clear words.
- If it burns or feels sharp, stop and add more lube or go back to fingers.
- It is normal for the first few minutes to feel intense. That often eases once you relax.
- You can stop at any point. There is no requirement to “finish.”
After
Some mild soreness the next day is common. Sharp pain or bleeding is not — take a break and see a doctor if needed. Hydrate, rest, and do not feel pressure to do it again immediately.
